Stokehouse Sundays 2/3/14 :: Andrew Lynch

Over the past few weeks, we have been enjoying the last lazy days of summer, set to the smooth soundtrack of our Stoked on Sundays DJs. As Autumn approaches we could be forgiven for thinking summer would stay with us, as Brisbane has turned on some cool days and warm nights that we hope will continue for a few weeks yet. On the music side we are keeping things moving in a similar direction with DJs playing to the stunning backdrop with a terrific selection of tunes to soundtrack our Sundays.

This week, we welcome Andrew Lynch to the booth, and a deep and sexy house sound that has endeared him to fans in Brisbane and afar. First making himself known at the turn of the century, Andrew has taken to the city’s nightspots with an enthusiastic approach and a sound honed over many hundreds of hours in the DJ booth, and many years building a music collection founded on serious jazz, soul, disco and of course house, all the way through to cheesy 80’s pop. From GPO, Monastery, Jade Buddha’s Shadow Lounge to more recent appearances at Family, Alhambra and Laruche, Andrew is a professional DJ who enjoys his work and is passionate about the smooth club sound.

Further afield, Andrew has performed in Los Angeles, New York, and Aspen in the United States, as well as visits to Thailand, Greece, and Spain, while at home he regularly appears in Sydney and Melbourne alongside his local residencies in his home town of Brisbane. Andrew is making large gains in the studio as well, putting together a solid discography of tunes that will no doubt bear him some fruit in the new future as he approaches suitable labels for release.

Our Stoked on Sundays are a relaxed and stylish affair, and Andrew Lynch is a relaxed and stylish DJ, selecting appropriate deep house grooves to compliment the end of our weekend. Join us, and our guest DJ Andrew Lynch, by the river at Southbank this week for Stoked on Sundays.
