Sundae :: Scott Walker

Scott Walker ::

Well the silly season has come and gone now, leaving us all a little worse for wear, but for the most part happy to be spending time with family and friends. Now the silly season is out of the way though, we can let the proper summer season roll through with it’s long lazy sunsets and warm evenings, ripe for misbehavior. We are stepping straight back into the fray following a huge New Year’s Eve, and a reserved but relaxed New Year’s Day party. We open up our 2012 program with a close friend of Sundae, and a regarded professional amongst Brisbane DJs, Scott Walker. Although known primarily for his serious club focused house and techno, Scott’s Sundae sessions have become something of a collector’s item and a popular way to end a week. As a serious vinyl collector wel read on his music history, while also adopting new technology and musical ideas, Scott’s afterhours sessions cross deep house, disco old and new, through to more organic sounds as well as intelligent electronica.

For more than ten years Scott has established himself as one of Brisbane’s dominant dancefloor forces, showing up in all the fine establishments such as Family, Monastery, Empire and Barsoma. It is not only his undeniable skill as a DJ that sees him at the forefront of the Brisbane scene, but his genuine love for Brisbane’s underground club culture, almost crossing into obsession, that endears him to so many fans. Indeed, over the eight years that his Drop night dominated the nightlife, Scott has seen many changes in this fair city, and has even forced the direction a fair amount on his own too. Now as part of the highly organized Auditree outfit, Scott brings his extensive experience and support to a new guard, and together they have successfully hosted some of Brisbane’s most revered events of recent times, most notably, capping off a stellar 2011 supporting Hernan Cattaneo and Carl Craig.

So here we are fresh from holidays, fresh new year and ready to party. Let’s get things rolling on the right foot, step straight into the new year with a fresh Sundae session with your friends and one of Brisbane’s finest. The weather is great, the tunes keep coming and we’ll see you, by the riverside.
